Venture into a hauntingly personal 2D Action-RPG where metaphysical dungeons manifest from the mind, and enemies are shards of anxiety given form. Inspired by Souls-like challenge and Metroidvania exploration, Dungeon 52 blends demanding combat with a deep, personal narrative.

The Weight of Weeks

A direct sequel/overhaul to the developer's original Scratch game, 52 WEEKS, Dungeon 52 explores the next phase of a mental landscape shaped by academic pressure. As Smiley, wield the TEM Sword (representing Time, Energy, Motivation) to navigate surreal dungeons themed after Maths, Physics, and more. Confront personified fears, encounter echoes of past relationships (NPCs), and seek Support Sites to maintain your fragile Will to Live.

Confront Your Fears

  • Souls-like Stamina Combat: Manage your TEM meter carefully. Every attack, roll, and parry consumes stamina, demanding deliberate action.
  • Metroidvania Exploration: Discover secrets and shortcuts in interconnected dungeons, gaining abilities to progress.
  • Unique Theming: Battle anxieties made manifest, from calculator bosses to code block aggressors, in environments reflecting mental states.
  • The Debt Mechanic: Push past your limits, but risk entering a debilitating Debt state if your Will to Live drops below zero.
  • Support Sites: Find safe havens to heal, upgrade stats, and interact with NPCs.

From Scratch to Soul

Dungeon 52 evolves the themes and core concepts of the original 52 WEEKS (a vertical shooter depicting the developer's Year 12 anxiety) into a more complex Action-RPG format, exploring the struggle of confronting these challenges head-on.

Dungeon 52 is in active development (Godot Engine 4). Core mechanics and the first boss are functional. Future work includes expanding dungeons, enemies, NPCs, narrative, and polish. See the full roadmap below!
